Canadian PM Justin Trudeau visits India to strengthen relations between two countries.


The Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau is in India for a week-long visit along with his family. PM Modi had visited Canada in April 2015 and invited the Canadian PM to India. The last visit of Canadian Prime Minister to India was in November 2012.

PM Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with Justin Trudeau on February 23rd following which a number of agreements are expected to sign. The talks related to space defense, energy, nuclear cooperation, and education are expected to take place.  External Affairs Ministry said,

“The visit is aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in key areas of mutual interest trade and investment”.

Justin Trudeau will also fly to Gujarat to visit Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram and the Akshardham Temple. The Canadian PM will also be in discussion with IIM Gujarat students on “Education and Investment Opportunities”.

To embark on his journey to India, the Canadian PM Trudeau tweeted

“Wheels up for India and a busy visit focused on creating good jobs and strengthening the deep connection between the people of our two countries,”

On Sunday The PM Trudeau and his family visited the Indian Pride, ‘Taj Mahal’

“For me to be able to be here on an official trip while bringing my kids with me to share this is really special and being able to enjoy this as a dad with my kids is really nice,” Mr. Trudeau said after the visit to the Taj Mahal.

As per the LIVE updates Dressed in Indian attire Mr. Trudeau’s wife Sophie Gregoire tries her hands on Chakra (the spinning wheel) while her kids watch with utmost concentration at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on Monday Morning.
