Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie is renamed as Padmaavat.
After the change in the movie title from Padmavati to Padmaavat, the movie is said to be released on 25th Jan 2018. In a video, Film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali said the movie is made with utmost sincerity and hard work and Rani Padmavati was always an inspiration. He further clarified about the rumors about a dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji; “I am reiterating that in our film, Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji have no such scene together which hurts anyone’s sentiments.”
A source also said Bhansali’s mother is very proud of her son’s work in the period drama and feel the film is a great tribute to Rajput women and a beautiful film to watch.
The Filmmakers’ were asked to modify certain scenes and there were 5 modifications done, however, this does not seem to be enough for the release on 25th Jan.
Minister of State of Home Gujarat, Pradeepsinh Jadeja issued a notification of banning the screening of movie Padmaavat in any cinema/multiplex/video cinema/touring cinema in Gujarat State. Mr. Jadeja also said that the ban was imposed to maintain the law and order in Gujarat. Gujarat state will follow the ban despite the movie title change.

BJP MLA Raja Singh (Telangana) also confirmed the ban in Telangana.
The movie is based on the epic poem Padmaavat in 1540 by Malik Muhammad Jayasi (A Sufi poet) and seems to be the most controversial movie of Bollywood. Let’s wait and watch the release.
